The interviews were recorded and conducted with student volunteers from across the three control groups. In the end there were five interviews conducted. It would have been desirable to get an even spread of male/female and two students from each course but due to the time pressures on students and staff it was felt that the interview must be conducted on a voluntary basis, hence the random self selection of respondents.

- Describe what flow means to you? When do you experience it and what do you notice about the experience?
- Do you experience flow at college, if so in which contexts?
- What are the optimum conditions for you to experience flow?
- Do other factors influence your ability to get into flow at college?
- If there are certain lessons where you experience flow more than others why do you think this is? Which factors might be influencing this, if at all?
- Do you think your teachers experience flow?
- How could teachers and the college management encourage you to get in the zone more?
- Which kinds of teaching and learning activities prevent you from feeling flow?
